About L.O.T.S

LOTS is a fully-featured Total Pharmacy System built to handle the needs of New Zealand Pharmacy now and in the future, using Microsoft Windows operating systems.

LOTS DISPENSARY was released late in 1995. Since then many New Zealand pharmacies have chosen LOTS DISPENSARY and/or LOTS Point-of-Sale and/or LOTS HeadOffice.

LOTS has developed into a robust, reliable and fully featured dispensary system since it was first released.

Completely multiuser

Anything that LOTS can do, can be done on each of its terminals simultaneously, whether they are located in the dispensary or the shop (providing the staff member is authorised).

For example, in the shop you can interrupt a sale to look up a patient dispensary history and then return to the sale, or in the dispensary you can interrupt a script to check sales history and then return to the script.

All terminals share the same data, so you can access all of your information from any terminal at any time.

Standard 'Windows' conventions

'Look and feel' of Windows programs.
One of the major advantages of Windows is that (almost) all Windows programs conform to standard Windows conventions and so 'look and feel' the same. Once you can drive one you can drive them all. This makes it very easy for relievers, for new staff, and for everyone when the wages program, the cashbook, the wordprocessor etc, all use a common method of operation.

Anyone who is conversant with e-mail or browsing the Internet, will find LOTS easy to operate because they are already familiar with standard Windows conventions.

We believe that conforming to Windows conventions is not just a minor attribute of a Windows program, it is a central requirement for programs of the Windows generation written to professional standards.

In the past, cars had different conventions until standards evolved. How would it be now if you had the only car with the brake and accelerator transposed?

Flexibility

Adapt LOTS to personal requirements. Pharmacies are becoming much more diverse. LOTS provides all of the functions that most pharmacies need, but some will want to go further into drug interactions, patient information notes, pharmaceutical care, or business analysis than others and it is unlikely that any one program can provide every function to suit every pharmacy.

LOTS Gateways open up the pharmacy system to specialised third-party programs which users can buy 'off the shelf', or have developed to their own individual needs.

For example, MED+INFO comprehensive patient information leaflets can be integrated. In fact, any specialised programs, (pharmaceutical care, photo manager, etc) could be added to LOTS. This lets you 'mix and match' a number of third party programs to achieve your personal requirements for your pharmacy.

Access to YOUR data

LOTS stores all of its data in a format readable by Microsoft Access, Excel, 'Word for Windows', or any software conforming to Microsoft conventions. You can exchange data with anyone you choose … doctor groups, your accountant, buying groups, warehouses, patient management systems, etc. OR have your own reports developed by one of the many thousands of Microsoft skilled programmers in New Zealand without any re-writing or authorisation required from HealthSoft.
